Maya Angelou is amazingly inspiring.
When I was in middle school, I watched the movie, I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings.
Afterwards, I read the book.
Looking back, I know I didn’t comprehend all of the story.
But I could grasp the story of hope and endurance.
I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings changed my life in ways I wouldn’t understand until decades later.

If you haven’t already read the book, I’d recommend grabbing a copy. It’s not fun to read. It definitely isn’t lighthearted. But it is honest and raw. And inspiring.
In a time in my life, it saved me.
